MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – The Government Quality Excellence Award is relevant and much-needed, First Deputy Chair of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus Yelena Morgunova said at the ceremony to award winners of the quality excellence competition, BelTA has learned.
“Today we are solemnly awarding laureates of the Government Quality Excellence Award 2022. This ceremony is taking place for the 24th time. This suggests that this award is really needed and in demand, it showcases our achievements across all sectors of the economy,” Yelena Morgunova said.
According to her, 25 organizations received the award, although there were almost twice as many applicants. “Companies have shown that despite all the sanctions, interrupted contacts and supply chains they were able to quickly adapt, find alternative suppliers, new markets and delivery routes for their products,” she stressed.

Yelena Morgunova went on saying that these companies demonstrated that the domestic economy is stable and sustainable. “We did not only survive, but we also grew our economy. We should show it. And the Government Quality Excellence Award is an excellent opportunity to showcase the success of the Belarusian economy,” Yelena Morgunova stated.
Many enterprises have made great strides to substitute imports. “Many food industry companies have received Halal certificates, which allows them to supply their food products to Muslim countries. In particular, Halal certificates were obtained by our confectionery flagships Kommunarka and Spartak, as well as enterprises of the dairy and meat industries. All this shows that we are not standing still, we are moving forward, and the award once again proves this,” she emphasized.

This year's edition of the Government Quality Excellence Award was the 24th on record. Eleven organizations became its winners, 14 reconfirmed the winner status. Three organizations were awarded special awards: “Leadership”, “Management Excellence”, “Social Responsibility”. The winners represent the engineering, transport, energy, pharmaceutical, chemical, construction and food industries and also educational and scientific institutions.
