Belarus' commodity exchange unveils top exchange traders in Q4 2020

MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – Big metallurgical plants, oil transportation companies, woodworking producers, and agricultural holding comapnies topped the updated exchange traders' rankings in Q4 2020 of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), BUCE spokesperson Roman Yaniv told BelTA.

The rankings take into account the turnover and the number of transactions reported by exchange traders in the accounting period and are updated at the end of every quarter. “Vyksa Steel Works, one of Russia's leading producers of welded steel pipes, was the most active seller in the metal products segment, while the Belarusian oil pipeline operation company Gomeltransneft Druzhba ranked first among buyers,” Roman Yaniv said.

In the timber products segment, the ranking was topped by two Lithuanian companies: UAB Eurovesta and AB Klaipedos Mediena. The first company was the largest buyer of Belarusian sawn wood, the second one – of wood chips and waste wood.

Agrokombinat Skidelsky, the largest buyer of oilseed meals at BUCE, leads the ranking in the agricultural products segment. The most active seller was Sodrugestvo-Agrotrade, a branch of the Russian group of companies Sodrugestvo, which manufactures and markets rapeseed meal.

“Brest Meat Processing Plant that bought sausage casing at BUCE placed first among buyers in the industrial and consumer goods segment. As for the largest seller, this position went to the new entry in the exchange traders' ranking – TigerLesExport company that delivers transporting and loading machinery for the forestry industry,” Roman Yaniv added.

Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry, and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
