Belarus' budget deficit at Br1.42bn in January-July 2020

MINSK, 1 September (BelTA) – The deficit of the central state budget of Belarus amounted to Br1.42 billion in January-July 2020, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Finance Ministry.

The revenues totaled Br12.84 billion, or 50.9% of the revised annual target.

Proceeds from value added tax came at Br7.6 billion (62.2% of the target), income tax – Br1.5 billion (36.3%), excise duties – Br1.7 billion (55.3%). Revenues from foreign trade operations totaled Br1.9 billion (40.3%).

The central state budget spent Br14.26 billion, or 52.1% of the revised annual target.

As much as Br7.2 billion (55.2%) was spent on nationwide activities, Br3 billion (52.7%) on financing the national economy, Br10.2 billion (55.6%) on financing the social sphere (social policy, education, healthcare, physical training, sport, culture, and mass media).

The deficit of the public administration sector budget totaled Br1.3 billion in January-July 2020. Revenues made up Br29.8 billion, or 56.2% of the revised annual target. Expenses stood at Br31.1 billion, or 55.9%.

The surplus of the Social Security Fund budget reached Br0.1 billion.

As of 1 August 2020, the arrears on tax and duty payments stood at Br184.2 million.
