Belarus' agricultural export to Russia's Sverdlovsk Oblast up by 36.6% in January-August 2019

MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – Export of companies affiliated with the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry to Russia's Sverdlovsk Oblast went up by 36.6% in January-August 2019. This matter was in focus of the talks between Belarus' Agriculture and Food Minister Anatoly Khotko and Sverdlovsk Oblast Minister of Agrarian and Industrial Complex and Consumer Market Dmitry Degtyarev, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian ministry.

The parties discussed joint efforts to increase the volume and expand the range of mutual supplies of food and and agricultural products. Exchange of experience in agribusiness, agricultural education and science was also on the agenda. “In January-August 2019, the trade between companies affiliated with the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry and Sverdlovsk Oblast came at $12.69 million (136.4% as against the same period of last year). Export amounted to $11.95 million (136.6%), import totaled $739,400 (132.6%),” the press service said.

Sverdlovsk Oblast imports products of Belarusian Savushkin Product, Postavy Dairy, and Babushkina Krynka, Volkovysk Meat-Processing Plant, and so on. Belarusian enterprises supply Sverdlovsk Oblast with frozen beef, buttermilk, milk whey, butter, cheeses, quark, malt extract, canned vegetables, and other products. In turn, Belarus imports breeding poultry and agricultural equipment from Sverdlovsk Oblast.

During its stay in Belarus, the Russian delegation visited several enterprises to see Belarusian agricultural vehicles and equipment, technologies for making and processing dairy products and other agricultural products.
