MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) - In 2019 the Austrian town of Klagenfurt will host the Day of Belarus. An agreement was reached during a meeting between Belarus Ambassador to Austria Alena Kupchyna and Klagenfurt city mayor Maria-Luise Mathiaschitz, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy.
“During the meeting with Maria-Luise Mathiaschitz, the mayor of Klagenfurt, the capital of Carinthia, an agreement was reached to hold the Day of Belarus in Klagenfurt next year,” the embassy said.
The meeting took place during the ambassador's visit to Carinthia. The ambassador met with Carinthia Governor Peter Kaiser to talk over a wide range of issues of mutual interest. The parties discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation as part of the agreement on cooperation between Carinthia and Minsk Oblast, and also steps to bolster ties in trade, economy, education and culture and other areas.
The Belarusian ambassador met with President of the Carinthia Economic Chamber Jurgen Mandl to review the exchange of business visits between Minsk Oblast and Carinthia in 2016 and 2017 and outlined further steps to intensify bilateral economic cooperation.More about Economy
