Ankara to host Belarusian-Turkish working group on agriculture

MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Turkey Viktor Rybak met with Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli who is also a co-chairman of the Belarus-Turkey intergovernmental economic commission, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Turkey.

The parties welcomed the high level of political ties between Belarus and Turkey and stressed the importance of intensifying the bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Viktor Rybak and Bekir Pakdemirli also exchanged views on the approaches to the development of bilateral relations in agriculture and food production in the context of the agreements reached by the heads of state in Ankara in April 2019.

The parties agreed to continue preparations for the first session of the joint working group on agriculture that will take place in Ankara.

Bilateral trade in agricultural products was also high on the agenda. Ambassador Viktor Rybak put forward the proposals regarding new promising Belarusian products that could be supplied to Turkey and ways to establish business ties between economic entities of the two countries.
