Ambassador: Price and quality are the best advertisement of Belarusian goods on Russian market

BREST, 7 June (BelTA) - Russian consumers appreciate Belarusian goods for their quality and affordable prices, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Yevgeny Lukyanov said as he met with Brest Oblast Governor Yuri Shuleiko on 5 June, BelTA has learned.

The Russian diplomat is in Brest Oblast on a multi-day visit. “The choice of the region has been made not by accident. If there is number one on car license plates, that is the first place you should go to,” Yevgeny Lukyanov joked.

According to Yuri Shuleiko, Brest Oblast maintains close relations with its partners from Russia. Many enterprises with Russian capital work in the region, he added. “There has been no fall at all. These months are showing good growth. Of course, the pandemic has had its impact. We are waiting for the borders to fully reopen. Brest Oblast is a special region as a supplier of food products. We have a powerful cluster for the production and processing of milk and meat. We are proud of the quality of our products,” the governor said.

Yevgeny Lukyanov agreed with Yuri Shuleko. "For example, Brest-made cheese is on my table every morning. When I see the products made in Belarus, I already know that it is the price and quality that suit me. The Belarusian manufacturers, in my opinion, may not waste money on advertising in Russia but invest this money in the measures to lower product costs. This will be the best advertisement," the Russian ambassador said.

The parties also touched on the topics of logistics, transport, tourism and interaction in other sectors. Separately, the parties talked about the Brest fortress. The memorial complex was renovated under the program of the Union State in 2018-2020. The project is set to continue in 2022. Proposals have been made to use funds from the Union State to set up a national patriotic center in the fortress. Now it has a regional status. In the future, the center will be working all year-round.

By the way, Brest and Brest fortress have a special place in the heart of the Russian ambassador. "For me, Minsk is a new city. But I lived and studied in Brest for five years. Yesterday I visited three schools. It was a nostalgic-romantic throwback to some point in my life. Today we visited the Brest fortress," Ambassador Yevgeny Lukyanov said.

The diplomat's visit to Brest Oblast will end on 6 June., he is scheduled to visit the Savushkin Product dairy in Brest, Polesie children's toys factory and Suvorov museum in Kobrin.
