NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
MOSCOW, 23 January (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to implement important and mutually beneficial projects in Novosibirsk Oblast of Russia, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi said at a meeting with Novosibirsk Oblast Governor Andrei Travnikov on 23 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
According to Dmitry Krutoi, Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast have a solid foundation for the development of trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation. The key areas of cooperation are the supplies of the Belarusian agricultural, passenger, freight, municipal and special-purpose vehicles, metallurgical and agricultural products and raw materials.
The ambassador also initiated updating and signing an agreement between the government of Belarus and the administration of Novosibirsk Oblast of the Russian Federation on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation on the sidelines of the forthcoming 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Ufa.
Dmitry Krutoi's working trip to Novosibirsk Oblast is taking place on 23-24 January. The head of the diplomatic mission has already visited the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and had a meeting with its chairman Valentin Parmon. The program of the visit includes meetings with the administration of the region and the city of Novosibirsk and visits to industrial enterprises of the region that are of interest for Belarus from the point of view of cooperation and joint projects.
Belarusian industrial enterprises and enterprises of Novosibirsk Oblast implement industrial cooperation projects. Sibelektroprivod manufactures electric motors and generators for BELAZ - BELAZ-HOLDING Company. Ekran-optical systems supplies components of night vision devices to BelOMO holding company. Novosibirsk Track Switch Plant cooperates with Belarusian Railways in supplies of turnout switches. The region also operates about 170 BELAZ quarry equipment: the main customer is Razrez Kolyvansky.
