Ambassador: Belarus is not terra incognita for Egypt

MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) – Belarus is not terra incognita for Egypt, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Terentyev told BelTA.

“Any farmer in Egypt knows the word ‘Belarus', because it is also the name of a high-quality and reliable tractor. More and more Egyptians see our country as a source of advanced technologies, including in industry, agriculture, healthcare and many other areas,” the ambassador said.

He shared the working plans for the current year: “In organizational terms, the start of operation of the high-level joint commission on cooperation and political dialogue and the Belarusian-Egyptian council of business cooperation will be of great importance. In the coming months we are going to hold the seventh session of the joint trade commission headed by the minister of antimonopoly regulation and trade of Belarus and the minister of trade and industry of Egypt, the third Belarusian-Egyptian symposium on cooperation between the academies of sciences.”

The work is also underway on a large number of bilateral projects. These are such areas as joint production of MAZ trucks, MTZ tractors, Bobruiskagromash farming machinery, Amkodor loaders, grain storages, MMZ engines, agriculture and food production, woodworking, science and education.
