Agricultural output in Belarus 2% up in January-October

MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) – In January-October 2019, agricultural farms of all kinds (state-run agricultural enterprises, private farmers, subsidiary farms) produced Br18.7 billion worth of goods, which was 2% up year-on-year in comparable prices, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.

In January-October 2019, agricultural enterprises made Br15.2 billion worth of products, which was up by 3.1% over the same period of 2018 in comparable prices.

The output of cattle and poultry (in terms of live weight) at farms of all kinds totaled 1,495,800 tonnes. Milk production reached 6,215,700 tonnes, with egg production at 2.968 million.

Agricultural enterprises accounted for 95.8% of the total output of cattle and poultry (in terms of live weight), 96.1% of milk output, and 81.3% of egg production.

As of 1 November 2019, the number of cattle in agricultural enterprises stood at 4.2 million head, including 1.4 million cows. The number of pigs amounted to 2.6 million head.
