
MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – Intergovernmental agreements have been signed to determine the terms of setting the price for Russian natural gas for Belarus and OAO Beltransgaz's markup for the period through 2025, the Belarusian Energy Ministry press service told BelTA.
Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich met with Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov in Moscow. Matters of bilateral cooperation in energy industry were discussed, including progress in the implementation of Union State programs on setting up the common markets of electricity and natural gas.
As a result of the meeting a protocol was signed on amending the intergovernmental agreement on pricing (tariffs) on natural gas deliveries to Belarus and natural gas transportation via the pipelines located in Belarus of 25 November 2011 as well as a protocol on amending the intergovernmental agreement on terms of selling shares and future operation of OAO Beltransgaz of 25 November 2011.
The signed documents finally consolidate the agreements the Belarusian and Russian heads of state reached on 19 December 2022 on keeping the terms of Russian natural gas deliveries to Belarus till 31 December 2025 at the level of 2022.
