MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – Accomplishments of the Belarusian manufacturing sector were mentioned by Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev as he met with St. Petersburg Governor Aleksandr Beglov on 20 April, BelTA has learned.
The Minsk mayor underlined that the Belarusian side is working hard to sell more vehicles and machines to St. Petersburg. Belarusian companies like MAZ, BKM Holding, and Amkodor sell a large number of their products to St. Petersburg, he said. “Upon the president's instruction we will set up a unified aftersales service center, which will cater to all the enterprises that sell their vehicles and machines, including passenger and freight ones,” Vladimir Kukharev remarked.
In 2022 the Belarusian automobile manufacturer MAZ sold 900 buses to St. Petersburg. A contract is supposed to be signed this year on selling over 100 large-capacity buses and extremely large-capacity buses.
According to the Minsk mayor, there are great prospects for selling BKM Holding passenger vehicles to St. Petersburg. The Belarusian company has polished all the designs that had been created together with St. Petersburg colleagues. Upon requests of the Russian side the company makes vehicles for various applications and they have been improved to meet St. Petersburg conditions.
Vladimir Kukharev added that MTZ sells vehicles not only to St. Petersburg but the surrounding area – Leningrad Oblast. Nearly 1,300 tractors were sold last year. Over 120 Belarusian tractors have already been shipped this year.
St. Petersburg actively buys Amkodor vehicles and machines, which are needed in the housing and utilities industry. Last year the Belarusian company sold over 100 vehicles. Forestry vehicles of Belarusian make are also in demand in St. Petersburg.
