Wins for Australia, China at Aerials World Cup in Raubichi

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – Australia and China topped the podium of the Aerials World Cup in Raubichi, BelTA has learned.

Lydia Lassila of Australia won the ladies' final. Silver went to her teammate Daniele Scott of Australia, with China's Xu Mengtao claiming bronze. Aleksandra Romanovskaya of Belarus finished 10th overall. Her teammate Anna Roslik placed 15th.

The podium in the men's event was occupied by Chinese athletes, with Xindi Wang claiming gold. Among the Belarusian freestyle skiers Pavel Dik finished 13th, Maksim Gustik – 16th, Stanislav Gladchenko – 19th, Ilya Gorelik – 23rd, and Dmitry Mazurkevich – 28th.

Sochi 2014 Olympic champion and leader of the Belarusian national team Anton Kushnir had to miss the 6th Aerials World Cup. He is currently undergoing a profound health checkup in order to be fully recovered and ready to perform at the World Championships in Sierra Nevada in March 2017.

Before the world championships the best freestyle skiers will compete at the final World Cup in Moscow on 4 March.
