Wimbledon 2018: Azarenka, Murray lose in mixed doubles final

MINSK, 16 July (BelTA) – Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and UK's Jamie Murray lost the 2018 Wimbledon mixed doubles final 6-7, 3-6 to Alexander Peya of Austria and Nicole Melichar of the United States, BelTA informs.

The Austrian-U.S duet tried hard to minimize mistakes in the first set. Victoria Azarenka and Jamie Murray encountered difficulties with attacks. The rivals were very active near the net, which helped Alexander Peya and Nicole Melichar to win.

In 2012 in London Victoria Azarenka paired with Max Mirnyi won the Olympic mixed doubles gold.

Novak Djokovic of Serbia won the 2018 Wimbledon men's singles event. Angelique Kerber of Germany won the women's edition.
