Vladimir Chepelin wins men's sprint at 2017 IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) - Vladimir Chepelin of Belarus won the 10K men's sprint at the 2017 IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships at Chaykovsky, Russia, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian clocked 23:13.5 with one penalty. Silver went to Sergei Volkov of Russia (3.4 seconds behind). Bronze was collected by Slovakia's Tomas Hasilla (+9.0 seconds).

Roman Yeletnov of Belarus finished ninth (+1:12.7 seconds), Sergei Bocharnikov came in 16th (+1:21.9), Alexander Dorozhko – 20th (+1:33.8), Viktor Krivko – 22nd (+2:04).

In the women's junior sprint event Dinara Alimbekova of Belarus clinched silver in 21:21.4. Gold went to Kristina Reztsova of Russia (20:48.7). Bronze was claimed by Valeriya Vasnetsova of Russia (1:02.1 behind the winner).
