Two medals for Belarus at 2016 Junior European Judo Championships

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Belarusian judokas have claimed two medals at the European U21 Championships in Malaga, BelTA has learned.

Dmitry Minkov took gold in the 66kg category, defeating Tornike Nagliashvili of Georgia in the final.

In the U100kh category Nikita Svirid lost to Aaron Fara of Austria in the second round and had to go through repechage to claim bronze, beating Estonia's Otto-Krister Imala. Egor Voropayev (U90kg) was close to the podium, finishing fifth in Malaga.

Belarusian judokas will next compete in an international tournament in Latvia.
