MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – Arina Sobolenko (ranked 142nd in the world) beat Michaella Krajicek (World No.253) 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 to secure Belarus' overall win against the Netherlands in the Fed Cup World Group quarterfinal on 12 February, BelTA has learned.
Earlier, Aleksandra Sasnovich (128) took her second victory, defeating World No.24 Kiki Bertens 6-3, 6-4.
On 11 February, Aleksandra Sasnovich saw off Michaella Krajicek 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, while Arina Sobolenko lost to Kiki Bertens 6-3, 6-7, 4-6.
In the doubles event Olga Govortsova and Vera Lapko denied Arantxa Rus and Cindy Burger 6-4, 6-2.
In the Fed Cup World group semifinal Belarus will face Switzerland on 22-23 April.
