MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – Leader of the Belarusian tennis national team Victoria Azarenka has every chance to win gold at the forthcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Chairman of the Belarusian Tennis Federation Alexander Shakutin said in an interview to the Belarus One TV Channel, BelTA informs.
“Today every player has an individual plan to prepare for important competitions of the year. This year we have the Rio Olympics. We hope Victoria Azarenka will surprise us all. She must do her best to win the singles gold. She has real chances for it,” said Alexander Shakutin.
In his words, two more Belarusian players, namely Alexandra Sasnovich and Olga Govortsova, have chances to qualify for the Olympic Games. “It is very much possible that the pair Sasnovich-Govortsova will play. The same is true about the mixed doubles. Max Mirnyi wants to qualify for the Olympics very much and he has been doing his best for it,” the Chairman of the federation noted.
