MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – Aleksandra Sasnovich of Belarus, ranked 123rd in the world, has progressed to the quarterfinal of the Hungarian Ladies Open in Budapest, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian had to go through the qualification to make the main draw where she upset Pauline Parmentier of France (World No.62) 7-6, 6-4. Aleksandra Sasnovich will next face world number 47 Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic.
In the men's event at the Delray Beach Open Belarus' Max Mirnyi and Treat Huey of the Philippines, seeded 3rd, won the opener against Robert Lindstedt of Sweden and Michael Venus of New Zealand 7-5, 6-3 to set up a last-eight tie against Tommy Haas of Germany and Vasek Pospisil of Canada.
