MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 120 Aleksandra Sasnovich got off to a good start at the Miami Open, defeating Bulgaria's world number 141 Elitsa Kostova 6-2, 0-6, 6-2 in the qualifying round one, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian will next face World No.73 Magda Linette of Poland in a bid to reach the tournament's main draw. Victoria Azarenka of Belarus won the Miami Open last year.
The matches of the 2017 Miami Open main draw are scheduled for 22 March – 2 April.
