MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 13 Aryna Sabalenka will open against Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko (World No.75) as the Zhengzhou Open second-round action continues, BelTA has learned.
It will be the first face-to-face encounter for the two players. In the opener Jelena Ostapenko saw off China's world number 246 You Xiaodi.
If Aryna Sabalenka wins, she will take on Petra Martic of Croatia (World No.23) in the quarterfinal.
The tournament in Zhengzhou will run through 15 September.
