Russian Maria Cheremisina signs with BC Tsmoki Minsk

MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) - Maria Cheremisina of Russia has signed with Belarus women's BC Tsmoki Minsk, BelTA informs.

The 26-year-old Russian athlete left BC Dynamo Kursk where she played since 2014. The contract with Maria Cheremisina has been signed through the end of the 2017-2018 season. She won the Baltic League Women and FIBA SuperCup Women as part of BC Dynamo Kursk in 2017. The Russian shooting guard won the Russia Cup twice. In Tsmoki Minsk Maria Cheremisina will replace Rachel Theriot with an ankle injury.

Maria Cheremisina may debut for Belarus against BC Olimpia Grodno in the Baltic League Women on 31 January and 1 February. With 33 points, BC Tsmoki Minsk are currently 3rd in the national basketball championship. BC Olimpia Grodno top the chart with 40 points. Second is BC Gorizont, with 34 points.
