MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – Representatives of six countries have taken part in the 15th international session “Scientific rationale behind physical education, athletic training and training of specialists in physical education, sports and tourism” in Minsk. The meeting marked the 80th anniversary of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.
The Minsk meeting was held as part of the Olympic Education program. Head of the Olympic Sport History and Theory Department of the National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine Maria Bulatova shared the university's practices of organizing the work to popularize the Olympic education among the youth. She also touched upon publishing activities, methods and ways of sharing such information.
Dean of the Department of Participation Sports at the Belarusian State University of Physical Education, Chairperson of the Belarusian Olympic Academy Irina Guslistova told the participants of the meeting about the Belarusian system of Olympic education.
Professor of the Olympic Sport History and Theory Department of the National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine Vladimir Platonov spoke about the problems athletes can face in the preparation for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Attending the meeting were representatives of the Olympic Committee of Russia, the Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, the national Olympic academies of Latvia, Bulgaria, Ukraine.
The session highlighted the matters of Olympic education in different educational establishments.
