Plans for ‘serious reform' of Belarusian Ski Union

MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ski Union is in for a serious reform, Prosecutor General, Chairman of the Supervisory Council of the Belarusian Cross-Country Skiing Federation Alexander Konyuk noted at a meeting held on 13 April to discuss the development of winter sports, BelTA informs.

“The decision has already been taken. The Ski Union will be reformed in the near future,” Alexander Konyuk said. It is expected that the union will be chaired by a head of a sports federation affiliated with it.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko urged to reorganize the Belarusian Ski Union and build a clear management structure there. “The most important thing is to make everybody work and bring results,” the president emphasized.

The Belarusian Ski Union currently comprises the federations of alpine skiing and snowboarding, freestyle skiing, and cross-country skiing, and also a sports club of ski jumping and Nordic combined.
