Over 80 athletes to take part in international eventing competition in Ratomka

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) - More than 80 athletes will participate in the international eventing competition in the Olympic center in Ratomka scheduled for 26-29 July, Director General of the National Olympic Equestrian Center Viktor Malashko said in BelTA's press center on 18 July.

“Our sports center traditionally hosts competitions in equestrian sport of the highest level. The upcoming major competitions will feature athletes from Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Kazakhstan, and also Lithuania and Poland. Over 80 athletes will take part in the international equestrian eventing,” said Viktor Malashko.

The program of activities during the competitions will include food courts and a children's zone.

Olympic Games participant in London, one of the leaders of the Belarusian team Alexander Fominov stressed that the best Belarusian riders will take part in the upcoming competitions. “The three-star tournament will test the capabilities of our team. We will gather our best athletes to earn rating points and compete in 2019 for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. We have high chances. Our main rivals are Russia and Poland,” he noted.

In the individual event Alexander Fominov will compete for the Olympic qualification together with his horse Martini.

The international eventing competition CCI3*/CCI2*/CCI1*, CIC3*/CIC2* will be held in Ratomka in cooperation with the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry. The event will also feature Belarus' Eventing Championship and one of five FEI seminars for officials.
