Olympics 2016: Talay misses out on 100m Hurdles final

RIO DE JANEIRO, 18 August (BelTA) – Belarus' Alina Talay failed to reach the Olympic 100m Hurdles final in Brazil, BelTA has learned.

A mistake in the semifinal heat cost the Belarusian a chance for a place in the final. Alina Talay clocked 13.66 seconds to finish 8th among eight contenders.

In the 100m Hurdles final the United States occupied the podium, with Brianna Rollins taking gold in 12.48 seconds, Nia Ali (12.59) and Kristi Castlin (12.61) clinching silver and bronze respectively.

In 2012 Alina Talay completed her Olympic campaign in the semifinal as well. In 2016 Alina Talay set a new national record of 12.63 seconds in Regensburg.
