Olympic village in Pyeongchang ready to welcome Belarusian athletes

MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – The Olympic village in Pyeongchang is ready to welcome Belarusian athletes, Deputy Chief of the Belarusian mission at the 2018 Winter Games Vasily Yurchik said, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee.

“The Olympic village is ready to welcome Olympians. Representatives of our delegation are completing the preparation of the apartments for the athletes. The balconies of the apartments have already been decorated with the national flags and symbols. We are getting ready to welcome our athletes,” Vasily Yurchik said.

Vasily Yurchik said that the meeting of the chiefs of missions of the Olympic teams was attended by the International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach who congratulated those in attendance on the arrival to the Republic of Korea and wished them successful work.

As it was reported, Belarus' national biathlon team will arrive in the host city of the 23rd Olympic Winter Games on 1 February.
