Mirnyi out of Roland Garros

MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – Max Mirnyi of Belarus has completed his French Open run, BelTA has learned.

In the mixed doubles opener Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Coco Vandeweghe of the United States lost 5-7, 3-6 to Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan and Alexander Peya of Austria.

Earlier, Belarus' Max Mirnyi and Mikhail Youzhny of Russia lost 6-4, 3-6, 2-6 to the French duo of Quentin Halys and Adrian Mannarino in the men's doubles round one.

In the women's singles event, Aleksandra Sasnovich's Roland Garros run came to end as she lost 2-6, 6-4, 3-6 to China's Zhang Shuai (World No.38) in the second round. The Belarusian world number 98 beat Viktorija Golubic of Switzerland (World No.65) 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the opener.

The second tournament of the Grand Slam series in Roland Garros will be over on 11 June. The French Open prize pot stands at €36 million this year.
