MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) – Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Poland's Marcin Matkowski have advanced to the Stuttgart Open semifinal after the German duet of Thomas Haas and Florian Mayer withdrew in the second round, BelTA has learned.
Max Mirnyi and Marcin Matkowski will face the Brazilian-British pair of Bruno Soares and Jamie Murray for a place in the final.
In the women's event, Vera Lapko (238th in the world) lost 3-6, 2-6 to Romania's world No.374 Mihaela Buzarnescu in the second round of the Hodmezovasarhely Cup in Hungary
On 15 June world number 90 Aleksandra Sasnovich will take on world number 13 Kristina Mladenovic of France in the second round of the Rosmalen Grass Court Championships in the Netherlands. Another Belarusian, Arina Sobolenko (148) will go against Canada's world number 194 Bianca Andreescu in Manchester, the UK.
The abovementioned events are a rehearsal ahead of the Wimbledon scheduled for 3-16 July.
