Mirnyi into Generali Open quarterfinal

MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) – Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Austria's Philipp Oswald enjoyed a good start at the Generali Open in Kitzbuhel, Austria beating Gerald Melzer and Tristan-Samuel Weissborn of Austria 7-5, 6-3, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian-Austrian tandem will next take on the Polish-Serbian pair of Marcin Matkowski and Nenad Zimonjic. The Belarusian-Chilean tandem Andrei Vasilevsky and Hans Podlipnik Castillo advanced into the quarterfinal and will face Argentine's Horacio Zeballos and Julio Peralta of Chile who saw off Belarus' Alexander Bury and Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia in the opener 6-1, 6-0.

World number 121 Arina Sobolenko of Belarus went off to a good start at the Citi Open in Washington beating world number 34 Lauren Davis of the United States 7-5, 6-3. The Belarusian will face either Sabine Lisicki of Germany (World No.190) or qualifier Valentini Grammatikapoulou of Greece (179).

In Lexington Vera Lapko (241) will open against world number 270 Jennifer Elie of the United States. In the women's doubles Vera Lapko and Australia's Priscilla Hon will take on the American duo of Anna Baranovski and Shale Bouchard.
