Mirnyi, Huey lose 2016 BNP Paribas Masters opener in Paris

MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) – Belarus' Max Mirnyi and Treat Huey of the Philippines lost their 2016 BNP Paribas Masters doubles opener in Paris, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian-Filipino duo fell to the John Peers of Australia and Henri Kontinen of Finland in two straight sets 2-6, 2-6.

Despite the defeat, Max Mirnyi and Treat Huey hold their chances for the 2016 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London alive. The pair is currently ranked 8th in the ATP Doubles Race Rankings. Eight best pairs will go to the British capital, with six of them already known. The others will be named after the Paris tournament which will be over on 6 November.
