MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) - The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) will hold a conference on grassroots football in Minsk in April 2019, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Football Federation.

The UEFA officially announced that it had approved Belarus' bid for hosting the event . Taking part in the conference will be technical directors and heads of grassroots departments of 55 continental football associations.

The participants are expected to exchange views on youth and amateur football in Europe, and also to share the most advanced and relevant practices. During the five-day conference, about 180 people will define and coordinate the measures to further develop grassroots football in Europe.

The event will provide Belarus with an opportunity to outline the problems of domestic grassroots football in detail and get the UEFA's recommendations and support.
