MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – All European countries will benefit from the Second European Games taking place in Belarus in 2019, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Israel Samuel Olpiner said in an interview to the STV channel, BelTA has learned.
“This is excellent news. All the European countries will benefit from the Games being held in Belarus,” Samuel Olpiner said.
Member of the National Olympic Committee of Turkey Ali Kiremitcioglu stressed that at first the European Games were a real challenge, but they turned to be a success in the end. “We all discussed the venue for the next edition. There were a lot of contenders but we have chosen Belarus as the country focused on sport. The 2014 IIHF World Championship in Minsk was a great success. Here there is a good sports atmosphere and infrastructure. I think you will organize grandiose European Games,” he said.
As was earlier informed, Belarus was elected to host the Second European Games in 2019 following the vote at the 45th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees in Minsk.
