Iryna Zhuk sets Belarus' national record in pole vault

MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) - The Belarusian Iryna Zhuk cleared 4m 66cm at Meeting Pro Athle de Nancy in the French Nancy beating Belarus' previous record of 4m 65cm set by Anastasiya Shvedova in 2010, BelTA was told in the Belarusian Athletics Federation.

The record in pole vault has become the fourth one over the last month and a half for Belarusian athletes. Dmitry Nabokov broke the national record in high jump (2m 36cm), Tatsiana Khaladovich in javelin throw (67m 47cm) and Alina Talay in hurdles (12.41 seconds in the 100m hurdles).

In Nancy Tatsiana Khaladovich won the javelin throw with a result of 61m 89cm. Junior Kristina Timanovskaya covered the 100m in 11.46 seconds finishing in seventh.
