International gymnastics tournament kicks off in Grodno

MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – Belye Rosy, an international gymnastics tournament, is taking place in Grodno from 3 to 5 May, BelTA learned from the administration of Grodno Olympic reserve school No. 3.

The event got underway during the Grodno Open Gymnastics Championship. It drew together athletes from across Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, and Estonia.

“This is the eleventh edition of the tournament. It attracts more and more foreign guests every year. Today this is a popular high-profile event. There are many people who want to participate: everyone is interested in learning from strong rivals,” the school administration said. For instance, the Lithuanian team will comprise some athletes who are ready to represent their country at the European Championships.

“This is a good opportunity for schools from different countries to show their worth and see what they look like compared to others. Besides, this tournament is a stepping stone for future stars,” the school noted. This year, the results of the competitions will be available online.

The tournament will comprise several age categories, including a section for those younger than six.

The Belye Rosy tournament and the Grodno Open Gymnastic Championships are organized by the education, sports and tourism department of Grodno City Hall, the Belarusian Gymnastics Association, and Grodno Olympic reserve school No. 3.
