MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – Ilya Shymanovich of Belarus clocked the best time of 56.71 seconds in the men's 100m breaststroke at the inaugural International Swimming League (ISL) meeting that took place in Indianapolis, the United States on 5-6 October, BelTA has learned.
Italy's Nicolo Martinenghi clocked 57.05 to touch in second. Third was Russia's Anton Chupkov (57.40).
Ilya Shymanovich took silver in the men's 200m breaststroke (2:05.44). Russia's Anton Chupkov won the event in 2:04.03. Nic Fink of the United States clocked 2:07.75 to touch in third.
The ISL competitions are viewed as an alternative to the FINA official tournaments.
The next ISL meeting will be held in Naples, Italy on 12-13 October.
