Ilya Lukovets of Novopolotsk wins bodybuilding championships in Russia

VITEBSK, 24 October (BelTA) – A rescuer from Novopolotsk won the bodybuilding championship in Russia, BelTA learned the website of the Belarus' Emergencies Ministry.

Warrant officer Ilya Lukovets, a member of the firefighting rescue team of the Vitebsk Oblast Department of the Emergencies Ministry, won the bodybuilding and fitness championships in Russia. The competitions were held in Astrakhan. The resident of Novopolotsk was recognized the best in the plus 100kg category (the most prestigious nomination among male bodybuilders) and in the absolute weight division.

The championship included more than 50 medal events. Taking part in the competitions were about 500 athletes from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Iran.

A week ago Ilya Lukovets won the Belarus Open Bodybuilding and Fitness Cup in Mogilev. He is also a vice champion of Russia, an absolute winner of Moscow and bronze medalist of the Amateur Olympia Moscow.
