GRODNO, 14 November (BelTA) – Professional kettlebell lifters are flocking to Grodno that will host the World Association of Kettlebell Sport Clubs World Cup and the Kettlebell Triathlon World Championships, BelTA learned from the chief arbiter of the competitions, a famous Grodno-based kettlebell lifter, a many-time record-breaker Evgeny Nazarevich.

The prestigious events that will also include the European championships and the Union State championships will bring together about 150 participants from 12 countries.

“There will be a broad range of disciplines, including snatch, jerk and long-cycle. There will be kettlebells of different weights for different groups of participants,” Evgeny Nazarevich said. Winners will be determined in several age groups. There will be events for professionals, amateurs, veteran athletes and newcomers. The youngest participants are 6-7 years old.

“I think we can expect new records and excellent results, as Grodno will welcome many renowned athletes; the competition will be tough,” Evgeny Nazarevich said. Among the participants will be Vitebsk Oblast Governor Nikolai Sherstnev.
