Gordie Dwyer may become new head coach of HC Dinamo Minsk

MINSK, 30 June (BelTA ) - A preliminary agreement was reached between HC Dinamo Minsk and Canadian specialist Gordie Dwyer, BelTA learned from the website of the Minsk-based hockey club.

Gordie Dwyer was the head coach of HC Medvescak Zagreb of the Kontinental Hockey League in the 2015/16 and 2016/16 seasons. In 2016 he also served as assistant coach of Team Canada at the Spengler Cup which Canada ended up winning that year. He held the head coaching position at HC Ambri-Piotta of the Swiss top-flight National League in the 2016-17 season. He also worked as assistant coach with U18 Team Canada.

As a player, Gordie Dwyer played five seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens.
