Gold for Belarus' Yevgeny Korolek in scratch at Los Angeles UCI World Cup

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) - Yevgeny Korolek of Belarus won the scratch event at the Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Los Angeles, the United States, BelTA has learned.

The 21-year-old Belarusian outrode all 21 cyclists in the final race. Second was Thomas Denis of France, with bronze going to Thomas Sexton of New Zealand. Yevgeny Korolek is the bronze medalist of the 2015 European Cycling Championship in the team's pursuit.

In the men's Omnium Belarus' Roman Tishkov finished 8th among 17 athletes. Szymon Sajnok of Poland topped the podium, with Campbell Stewart of New Zealand and Sanghoon Park of the Republic of Korea claiming silver and bronze respectively.
