France's Martin Fourcade wins Men's 12.5K Pursuit

PYEONGCHANG, 12 February (BelTA) - Martin Fourcade of France gained the champion title in the Men's 12.5K Pursuit in PyeongChang. The Belarusians landed far away from the podium, BelTA informs.

The French biathlete clocked 32:51.7 to take gold, with one penalty. Silver went to Sebastian Samuelsson of Sweden, 12 seconds back with one penalty. Bronze was taken by Benedikt Doll of Germany, 15.1 seconds back, with one penalty.

Anton Smolsky of Belarus finished 33rd, 3:52.4 behind the winner, with three penalties. Vladimir Chepelin was 36th, 4:12.9 back, with six penalties. Sergei Bocharnikov crossed the finish line 37th, 4:23.9 back, with six penalties.

The Women's 15K Individual is scheduled for 14 February in PyeongChang.
