Four third-period goals lift Dinamo Minsk over two-time Gagarin Cup holder

MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Artur Gavrus, Alexander Materukhin, Matt Ellison and Rob Klinkhammer scored in a span of a little less than seven minutes to lift HC Dinamo Minsk over the two-time Gagarin Cup winner, Ak Bars Kazan, in the KHL road game on 26 September, BelTA has learned.

Rob Klinkhammer's empty netter with 34 seconds remaining completed a third-period rally in the Bisons' 5-3 win on Tatneft Arena.

Dinamo Minsk erased a two-goal deficit on goals 54 seconds apart by Artur Gavrus and Alexander Materukhin more than midway through the final period. Alexander Materukhin scored his first of the night late in the opening period to destroy Ak Bars' early lead.

Matt Ellison gave the Bisons the lead, 4-3, with less than four minutes remaining to play.

Ben Scrivens made 33 saves for Dinamo Minsk.

With 19 points and three consecutive wins under the belt, Dinamo Minsk currently go 9th in the West Conference. The Bisons will next play against Lada Togliatti on 28 September.
