Flag instituted for Belarus' Sport and Tourism Ministry

MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – An official ceremony to present a flag to the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry took place in Minsk on 11 November, BelTA has learned.

The flag was handed to Sport and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk by First Deputy Head of the Belarus President's Administration Maksim Ryzhenkov, who emphasized the importance of the event. The ministry has proved its efficiency and relevance, he said.

“Our heraldic symbols have been finally legalized. The flag is a symbol of our ministry that will inspire Belarusian athletes for new achievements,” Sergei Kovalchuk said. He added that the flag will be present at sport events.

As BelTA reported, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No.399 to institute additional heraldic symbols for the country's Sport and Tourism Ministry. These are, in particular, the ministry's flag and the label badge for the development of physical education and sport in the Republic of Belarus, designed as the ministry's emblem.
