First winners of Snow Sniper national biathlon competitions named

MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) - The first winners of the Snow Sniper national biathlon junior competitions were named, BelTA has learned.

The first to compete in the National Olympic Center Raubichi were athletes from the young age group. Valeria Sazankova from Mogilev Oblast came in first. Elizaveta Petrova from Minsk was second and Kristina Kudelko of Minsk Oblast settled for the third place.

In the competitions among boys the fastest on track was Yegor Skorokhodov from Minsk. Roman Labetsky of Vitebsk Oblast took silver and Nikita Gorbachev (Mogilev Oblast) bronze.

There was a fierce competition among boys in the medium-age group. As a result, the gold went to Vladislav Gavdis from Brest Oblast. Anatoly Shtunder from Minsk bagged silver and Nikolai Lukashenko, who represented Minsk Oblast, picked up bronze. Maria Gnedchik from Minsk was victorious in the medium-age competition among girls. Anastasia Popova (Minsk) finished in second and Daria Tovarnitskaya from Gomel Oblast third.

The national biathlon competitions among children and youth Snow Sniper will continue with the events in the senior-age group. Mixed relay, one of the most spectacular events of the tournament, will be held on 4 March.
