FC Krumkachy players join I am a Donor campaign

MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – The players of FC Krumkachy Minsk joined I am a Donor campaign on 10 March, BelTA has learned.

About 20 players of one of the Minsk football clubs came to the Minsk Transfusiology Center to donate blood. The campaign in Belarus is run in cooperation with LG Company that has been taking part in the Russian mass voluntary donation program since 2009. More than 80 donation campaigns have been held so far. Taking part in them were famous Russian athletes such as Svetlana Khorkina, Konstantin Tszyu, Alexei Yagudin, Tatiana Navka and Ruslan Nigmatullin. Today's initiative with the participation of FC Krumkachy kicked off the blood donation campaign in Belarus.

Voluntary donors contribute to the country's blood bank. Blood donors live longer, have a better immune system, and what is most significant, help save peoples' lives. LG official representative Tatiana Shakhnes noted that the next donor day will take place in Moscow.

Founded by Denis Shunto in 2014, FC Krumkachy needed just two seasons to reach the Belarusian Premier League. In 2016 the team made its debut in the Belarus Elite Division to place 11th. Last season the Ravens started drawing big audiences due to the increasing popularity. This season the team has been headed by Ukrainian specialist Vladimir Pyatenko. He replaced Oleg Dulub who was appointed as head coach of FC Karpaty Lviv.
