MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – The traveling photo exhibition “To Be a Champion: Stories of Great Victories” opened in Zemgale Olympic Center in Jelgava, Latvia. The exposition is dedicated to sport in Belarus and to the European Games, BelTA has learned.

Rita Vectirane, deputy chairperson for social, education and culture programs at Jelgava City Council, and representatives of Jelgava's sport establishments visited the exhibition on the opening day.

The photos of the exhibition feature famous Belarusian athletes who will participate in the the European Games on 21-30 June in Minsk. The exhibition also introduces visitors to Belarus' modern sport facilities some of which will host the European Games competitions.

The exhibition in Jelgava will stay open until 23 February. It will then move on to Lithuania's Vilnius and Klaipeda, Latvia's Riga and Daugavpils. French Lyon and Italian Naples will also have an opportunity to welcome the exhibition.

Minsk European Games Organizing Committee noted that such exhibitions have been made possible thanks to the recent partner agreements with a number of Belarusian diaspora organizations and are part of the program to promote the games in other countries.
