MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – Egor Gerasimov of Belarus reached the round of Last 16 at the ongoing tennis tournament in Astana, Kazakhstan, BelTA informs.
In the opener the Belarusian beat France's David Guez 7-6 (8-6), 6-3. Egor Gerasimov will next face either Belgium's Yannick Mertens or Jurij Rodionov of Austria.
In the round of Last 32 Dmitry Zhirmont of Belarus lost the first set 2-6 to India's Arjun Kadhe and had to pull out at 3-3 in the second set due to health problems.
In the round of Last 16 the Belarusian-Russian tandem of Yaroslav Shilo and Mikhail Elgin will take on Sebastian Ofner of Austria and Aldin Setkic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the women's event in Bucharest, Romania, Lidziya Marozava of Belarus and Arantxa Rus of the Netherlands will face the Argentinean-Romanian tandem of Maria Irigoyen and Alexandra Cadantu.
