Domracheva skis to Kontiolahti Sprint win

MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – Four-time Olympic champion Darya Domracheva won the Women's 7.5km Sprint at BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 7 in Kontiolahti on 9 March, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian missed only one shot to secure her third World Cup win of the season in 20:56.8. Franziska Hildebrand of Germany finished second, shooting clean, 0.5 seconds back. Third place went to Italy's Lisa Vittozzi, with one penalty, 5.5 seconds back.

Clean-shooting Nadezhda Skardino came in 11th, 35.3 seconds back. Irina Krivko also shot clean to finish 15th, 51.9 seconds back. Dinara Alimbekova was 46th, with one penalty, 1:51.3 back. Nadezhda Pisareva missed two shots to cross the finish line 64th, 2:19.2 behind the winner.

This sprint win became Darya Domracheva's 31st victory.

Darya Domracheva, with 496 points, is still fifth in the total score, with Kaisa Makarainen leading the table (623 points).
