Dinamo Minsk eliminated from contention for Gagarin Cup playoffs

MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – Slovan's 3-2 overtime win over Dinamo Riga on 8 February eliminated HC Dinamo Minsk from contention for a place in the KHL postseason. With two games still to be played, Slovan Bratislava is 8 points ahead of the Belarusian team, BelTA informs.

With the recent win over Dinamo Riga, Slovan secured the 8th place in the Western Conference and a Gagarin Cup playoff berth. Dinamo Minsk still have two games to play. After an international break in the KHL season the Minsk Bisons will host Spartak on 16 February and Torpedo on 18 February.

The Western Conference table:

5. Dynamo Moscow – 102 (58);

HC Dinamo Minsk played in the KHL postseason three times: in 2011, 2012 and 2015.
