Bronze medal for Belarus at World Modern Pentathlon Championships

MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes have won a Men's Relay bronze medal at the World Modern Pentathlon Championships in Cairo, BelTA has learned.

Ilya Polozkov and Pavel Tikhonov were a success in all disciplines. They finished third in the final discipline, cross-country race combined with a shooting event, and scored 1,407 points in the overall rankings. The pentathletes of South Korea claimed the victory with 1,422 points, the Germans finished second with 1,419 points.

The world championships will continue with Women's Relay. Belarus will be represented by Olga Silkina and Tatyana Khaldoba. The competition in Cairo will finish on 28 August.
